Make a Bouquet of Bacon Roses

Updated on February 18, 2014

Make a beautiful bouquet of bacon roses!

Roses are red, violets are blue... But BACON is DELICIOUS!

For Valentine's Day or any special occasion, put a savory spin on the traditional rose bouquet by making your own bacon roses. Not only does it make a great statement, it's also low-carb!

If you don't mind the carbs, you could also add a pretty maple glaze to give the roses a nice shine.

The BEST instructions for Bacon Roses

There are several sites with instructions for making roses from raw bacon, but this is my favorite. It's the Bacon Roses Instructable by kaptaink_cg. The step by step instructions are clearly written, and there are excellent photos to help guide you through the process.

Bacon Roses: the Basics

For detailed instructions, you should check out this Instructable. But if you're just wondering about the basic process of making roses out of bacon, here you go.

Note: There are several variations on this process, so once you learn the basic technique, you can customize your own recipe.

  1. Get some raw bacon.
  2. Roll the bacon strips into coils and place into muffin tins. You may want to pre-drill holes in the bottom of the muffin tins and place them on another pan to collect grease.
  3. Cook the bacon buds in the oven.
  4. Cool the bacon roses and affix to stems.
  5. Arrange bacon bouquet in a vase and present to the lucky recipient!

Bacon Gifts and Accessories

Want to make a big deal out of your bacon roses? Combine the bouquet with some of these bacon gifts for the perfect porky present. Personally, I'm not a fan of novelty bacon-flavored stuff. I prefer the real thing! But what bacon lover wouldn't get a giggle out of some bacon-tastic accessories?

Looking for some more bacon products for your pork-loving paramour? Give these a try! My son really loves the Bacon Salt. He puts it on pasta and rice, and it gives everything a kind of smoky bacon-barbecue flavor.
