Why I Love My KitchenAid Stand Mixer
After wishing and hoping for decades, I finally bought myself a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. To make a long story short, I'll summarize by saying, "Best kitchen purchase EVER!"
I love cooking! And for 30 years, I'd been making cakes, cookies, breads, and everything else with a hand mixer and my trusty wooden spoons. They turned out fine, but I had heard about the durability and versatility of the KitchenAid, and loved the way they looked on other people's counters.
I'd heard about KitchenAid's excellent motor quality, and learned that there are many attachments, including a meat grinder, sausage filler, grain mill, pasta roller, and more. I haven't needed any of those attachments yet, but I'm getting plenty of use out of my mixer.
With just the basic bowl and a dough hook, I make delicious homemade bread without a breadmaker. Making bread dough is my favorite thing to do with my mixer. I gave away my bread machine, because my KitchenAid is all I really need.
I use the paddle attachment to mix all kinds of thick and delicious cookie doughs. If you've ever broken a wooden spoon stirring a thick oatmeal cookie mixture, you know how much work it can be!
The whisk attachment makes quick and easy whipped cream and frostings.
I use my mixer so often that it has a permanent spot on my kitchen counter. I never put it inside a cabinet. I just keep it clean and shiny and leave it out to bring color and cheerfulness to my kitchen. My mixer is red, but there are so many colors available, you could just about fill a Crayon box with mixers.
And if the standard lacquer colors aren't unique enough for you, wait until you see how some KitchenAid fans have customized their mixers! I've seen polka dots, flames, and even a Star Wars Boba Fett mixer. Yes, we KitchenAid fans can be a little crazy about our mixers.
I highly recommend the KitchenAid mixer to anyone who enjoys cooking and baking. I love mine!
There are so many colors available, it's really hard to choose a favorite!
